Intensives for each stage of your
justice-centered curriculum development journey
Two Half-Days (6 hours total)This intensive is designed for up to 15 teachers. It is recommended the two sessions be spaced approximately 1 month apart. Teachers will develop, assess, and refine planning processes to ensure planning time is efficient and spent on high-leverage activities that improve student learning. Depending on available supply, participants in this intensive will also receive a Work Less Teach More Planner to support implementation.
One Full Day (6 hours)This intensive is designed for one department or grade team. Teachers will select 4-8 priority standards for their team and define what proficiency looks like at each proficiency level for their grade or subject area and then check for alignment with the rest of the team. Teachers will then create an outline of course summative projects for the entire academic year and check for alignment with the team.

It is well-suited for the entire teaching staff of a small school or a large department or grade team in a larger school or district context. Teachers develop a unit arc inclusive of lesson-level protocols that address all four protocol purposes. Teachers will build out the reusable templates (e.g., worksheets, direction slides) for each protocol.
Two Full Days (12 hours total)This intensive is designed for one department or grade team. Teachers develop a quarter-long unit(s) from start to finish (inclusive of the summative assessment project and rubric as well as activities and content for each lesson). With permission, these intensives can be recorded and sent to the coaches/instructional leaders who want to replicate the process with additional teams.
