- Topic-Focused “Launch” workshop on a focus routine or practice (up to 6 hours)
- Sample Topics: improving student question generation, critical analysis of sources, or student-led discussion
- Two, Topic-Focused Virtual Workshops (up to 2 hours per workshop)
- Based on teacher, student, and leader feedback regarding identified needs around growing the chosen routine/practice. Note: Multi-grade groups are okay because of the pedagogical focus.
- Student Work & Curricular Scaffolds Review (Asynchronous Coaching for up to 5 Teachers)
- Approximately every 2 weeks, each teacher emails me adapted IH lesson materials or student work completed during the IH lesson, and I respond with noticings, questions for reflections, and possibilities for instructional action via a Loom video —up to 8 reviews total per teacher.
- To build capacity, I suggest inviting one teacher per grade level to engage with this coaching. These teachers can take one of two approaches.
- Approach #1: The teacher can be the point person for their team, sharing samples of student work representative of the grade team and guiding the team’s reflections and engagement around my coaching questions and opportunities for instructional action.
- Approach #2: The teacher deeply considers the student work from their own classroom, internalizes the cycle of inquiry and action research, and can serve as a “model” or “learning lab” class for others to visit and learn from or commits to leading the team in this process the following year.
- Instructional Leadership Coaching for One Leader (Yearlong coaching via Slack or 4 coaching calls on Zoom)
- This service could be used to help coaches to coach teachers with the specific struggles their teachers are experiencing. Alternatively, sessions could be used to co-design needs-based topical workshops for the leader to facilitate (e.g., macro vs. micro scaffolding for MLLs). Sessions could also be used to co-create a student interest-driven, inquiry-based pacing guide.

Group Implementation Coaching (60-minute virtual session): $1,500
- Teachers bring questions or challenges that come up in implementing the curriculum, and I coach teachers on how they may address those challenges. Challenges may include: How can I pace my implementation of the curriculum so I spend time on the “important” things? How can I support my multilingual learners and students with IEPs who are struggling to read the primary sources? What’s an equitable grading approach to assess students’ work in Investigating History?
Learning Walk (up to 6 hours, in-person): $6,000
- Ideally we would bring together a small group of leaders, teachers, and students to clarify desired outcomes and observable criteria, visit several IH classrooms, and debrief to identify trends and next steps for instruction. For more on my approach to learning walks or to get a resource to support your team to do this yourself, check out this podcast episode.
Custom-Built Resource Library: pricing ranges, typically from $5,000 to $30,000
- In collaboration with teachers and instructional leadership, I can build your team a customized resource library based on the specific needs and priorities of your district, school, and/or department. Resources may include but are not limited to: a school or district-specific pacing guide that prioritizes deep discussion; competency-based rubrics for all assessments; scaffolded writing templates; and video walkthroughs of lesson internalization and planning strategies.
One-on-One Coaching: $2,000 per person
- For teachers: Six, 30-minute meetings on Zoom (bi-weekly, ideally during a teacher’s planning time).
- This service is designed for teachers who are eager to improve their pedagogical practice. We would focus on improving one or more aspects of a specific inquiry routine (e.g., improving student question generation, critical analysis of sources, student-led discussion). Alternatively, we could also coach on the mindset and strategy around designing appropriate scaffolds for multilingual learners and students with IEPs.
- EduBoost (year-long asynchronous coaching via Slack for teachers or leaders)
- Educators ask a question via Slack at any time, and receive an answer (and any relevant resources) from their coach within one business day. Whereas workshops take a proactive approach, this coaching service will support teachers in responding to specific situations or questions that arise during the course of curriculum implementation. This service has been particularly effective for instructional coaches supporting teachers to implement IH, as we can utilize a coach-the-coach model to support teacher struggles and pacing approaches.
You can also add additional Topic-Focused Virtual Workshops at $3,000 each or Instructional Leadership Coaching at $2,000 for 4 Zoom sessions.
